In the main Pokemon games, it’s quite easy to level up – you just battle trainers or run around a place where EXP-rich Pokemon spawn, and you’ll be raking in the levels as though they’re leaves. In Pokemon GO, however, the mechanics are completely different, so you’re going to need an entirely new approach if you want to get competitive in this Pokemon spinoff. And if you don’t know any Pokemon GO Power Leveling techniques, that’s alright, because we’ll be teaching you some.
Pokemon GO Powerleveling: A Trainer That Levels Up?
For the uninitiated, and that’s probably you, it’s not the Pokemon that level up on Pokemon GO, which is rather ironic. Instead, it’s the trainers. For every Pokemon they catch, they get EXP. And of course, the stronger or rarer the Pokemon is, the more EXP it yields. And as trainers level up, they get more and more access to even more powerful Pokemon. But that doesn’t mean there’s going to be a snowball effect that accelerates the leveling-up process, as the EXP required to reach succeeding levels get higher and higher, so you’re going to have to keep on catching them Pokemon, like the trainer you are.
Pokemon GO Poweleveling: What? Pokemon Without Levels?
But what about Pokemon? If they don’t have levels, how is their power determined? By CP, which is displayed on the top part of their summary. The higher the CP, the more powerful they are. So, how do you make them stronger, which, in a way, is to pull off Pokemon GO Power Leveling moves on them? By feeding them stardust and candies. To get these items, you have to either beat gyms (but we won’t be covering that), or transfer Pokemon to Professor Willow. Do note that these candies can only be fed to Pokemon on the same evolution line. For example, if you transfer a Pidgey, you’ll receive Pidgey candy, and you can only give it to Pidgey, Pidgeotto, or Pidgeot.
And other than doing Pokemon GO Power Leveling, you can also evolve your Pokemon by giving them the indicated amount of candies. You can also wait until you catch an evolved form of that Pokemon, but where’s the fun and challenge in that? After all, Pokemon games are all about growing with your Poke-friends…or not.
Now that you got the low-down on Pokemon GO Power Leveling, it’s time you get back out there and restart your quest to become the very best, or at least the most powerful. We’ll be rooting for you, fellow trainer.
