Tree of Savior just recently released access to players. It is not even fairly young, it is YOUNG. As I was browsing opinions if I should play the game and if I can commit most of my free time playing it, I found a thread where there is a discussion on their opinion about Tree of Savior.
Should I Make Tree of Savior Accounts?
I came across Reddit on their opinion on Tree of Savior. Here are some parts of the original post:
I really like Tree of Savior. It’s currently my go-to MMORPG to play when I need a break from some things. By no means am I going to stop playing Tree of Savior because of this, but this aspect of Tree of Savior I felt was very… Lacking.
I’ve been playing MMORPG’s since I was a kid and my all time favorite title will always be Ragnarok Online. Ragnarok was the game of it’s time and there really was nothing else to compare to it, save World of Warcraft but even then they were two completely different games. An immense world with humongous amounts of content. Secrets, quests, mystery’s and random events; you name it, Ragnarok had it. But there was one thing above all that had me coming back to Ragnarok every time someone asked me what my favorite MMORPG was.
Depth.
I don’t mean Depth as in gameplay wise because they are both completely different games that play completely differently and should be designed differently, I mean story and background wise
Tree of Savior falls short of this. While playing Tree of Savior I feel that all I’ve done is just blow through maps without much of a care. The maps are interesting for sure, definitely lots of detail put into creating a certain feel of a field but it’s just nowhere near as captivating as it was in Ragnarok. There is just nothing that made me look at a certain portion of the map and think “huh, I wonder why that is there.” There’s no particular spot the designers went out of their way to make look pretty to have a nice sit and heal/chat or a road off the main trail to a floating island with a bench providing an amazing view of the water below. The monsters also fall flat in this regard as well. The monsters don’t tell a story of why they are there or if I progress in a certain direction, would I see a stronger relative of theirs?
Tree of Savior Account: My Reaction
I can allow the poster on the fact that it lacks story and background because but if in terms of content, it is quite unfair to say that at this early of a stage. For the story, the developers or writers should have made deep and sensible story as it is the base of the game. Lore is an important part of any game and if the game lacks story depth, they should do something about it. Good thing I’m not really into an MMO’s story but I’m more of content and gameplay player. So if this post alone is going to be my basis, it will not be enough. Expect me to look for more and share with you guys.
