Saving FFXIV Gil with your own mount

Mounts are unlocked once your character reaches level 20. At the moment, there are 12 different kinds, including but not limited to Chocobos, Gilded Magitek Armor and even Behemoths. Don’t expect to use them all however as some are limited to holders of a Legacy FFXIV account. Using a mount requires no FFXIV Gil, although the process of obtaining one might.

Paying FFXIV Gil for your first ride

The easy way to get a mount is to rent a Chocobo at Chocobo Stables located in towns and cities. This will cost you some FFXIV Gil for a given period. If you have followed the storyline quests and joined a Grand Company however, you can get the “My Little Chocobo” quest. This requires you to trade 1,000 Grand Company tokens with the Quartermaster. These FFXIV items will then be traded for a Chocobo voucher. Have fun riding!
